COUNTRYSIDE CHIC

There is no better place to experience the cosseting atmosphere of Langdon Court than in the 15 individually designed rooms and suites. Set over the first and second floors, these bedrooms are masterpieces of relaxed comfort and understated luxury.

The expansive principal rooms are filled with period features and spectacular views; there are also a few smaller but perfectly-formed rooms that are distinguished by charming details. Soft, neutral paint colourways from Edward Bulmer contrast with decorative Colefax & Fowler and Pierre Frey fabrics. Sink-in chairs and sofas sit alongside handpicked English antiques and European pieces, whilst original artworks and unexpected discoveries delight the eye. Thoughtfully decorated, each room also features just the right amount of modern-day needs.

GLORIOUS GARDENS

Nowhere captures the soothing beauty of Devon like the 10 acres of gardens and parkland  that Langdon Court sits on. Worthy of a heritage listing, the English Renaissance gardens are being lovingly restored and replanted as an ongoing project. Langdon Court’s centrepiece walled garden has been transformed with over 800 David Austin roses, whose fragrance and colour evoke a timeless era. Whilst the Victorian greenhouse and kitchen gardens are being brought back to life over the coming years.

A newly-planted hillside of lavender sweeps down to an expansive lily-filled pond, home for the resident ducks, geese, and guinea fowl, whilst the established woodland adds to the sense of privacy. Throughout the grounds are wonderful tucked-away areas to explore and enjoy. This mix of formal and informal gardens are in inspiring homage to quintessential English garden design.
